"During her very first years of childhood, she began to take refuge and find comfort in her most irrepressible imagination. She was too little to rationalize and understand all the pain their family was feeling, she was too little to accept the incessable screams of pain of her little brother and to understand the whole world that seemed be so indifferent to what they were going through.
She decided to create a reality in his own way, and she did it ! A reality where everything flourished, where all the animals and creatures of the world were close to her, where the only tears shed were actually the bright stars or the reflections of mountain streams..."
Veronica Caterisano, who grew up in a small mountain village in Val Gardena and enjoying an inequal nature and tranquility, expresses herself with sensitivity through her unique works that particularly involve the viewer.
Veronica Caterisano’s painting features the most authentic characteristics of traditional figurative art. The artist focuses on the beauty of the face, which she depicts using various techniques and with great drawing mastery. She best expresses herself in her attention to detail, such as the reflection of light and the shading of volumes, thereby enhancing the sentimentality of the composition. However she also uses subjects taken from nature: animals, flowers, trees and generally speaking that vital, pristine world where the very essence of life is perceived.
